Tuners and other vehicle lovers often invest plenty of time and money into contributing new components to their cars’ systems, and they invest such care because they honestly want their cars to look and perform their best. As with photography and motion picture filming, however, one area that’s constantly a deficit in a car’s design is lighting. Poorly arranged or improperly assembled lighting arrays cannot only have a detrimental effect on a car’s appearance, but they can also negatively impact the actual effectiveness of these working lights. By reading through several of the car lighting design tips below, perhaps you can upgrade your car’s lights so that they enhance your vehicle’s aesthetic appeal and lighting performance, instead of taking away from them both.
For starters, you should work on your car’s headlight array. Headlights are the main components in your car’s lighting system, and they are the most necessary for continuing safe driving habits. Typically, cars are outfitted with halogen headlights by their manufacturers, and these are among the most commonly used headlight types around. For an improved appearance, however, you should skip the halogen replacements and go straight to HIDs. For brighter headlights known for their impressive longevity, you can’t beat out HID lights. On top of that, you can choose the color of light you want your car’s headlights to emit when using HIDs. From purple and blue headlights to white and yellow ones, you can customize that headlight color to your desire with HIDs.
Once you’ve finished working on the lights on your car’s front end, it’s time to turn over to the rear side. Tail lights can be out for days or even weeks sometimes before a driver even notices that his or her car has a busted or burning-out tail light, so check often to make sure that isn’t the case with your car. For brighter tail lights that are often included on new vehicle releases these days, try installing aftermarket LEDs. LED tail lights are sure to impress most people, and they really do stand out in the dark.
If you’ve finished with all of your car’s functional exterior lights, you can turn to some novelty additions if you’d like. Undercar lights can make for a very exotic car appearance, and LED neons are often used for this purpose. Some drivers also like to use novelty police lights and strobes, but as with undercar lights as well, laws vary from place to place on the use of these types of lights. Still, if you’re looking to round out your car’s lighting system with some impressive additions, novelty exterior lights may be the way to go.
