The year 1970 marked the last hurrah for the storied Shelby GT500 as Ford's racing agreement with Carroll Shelby ended in February. The cars listed as '70 were actually re-titled '69s with the Ram Air 428 engine, multi-scooped hood and deluxe Mustang-trim interior carried over from the previous year. New for the '70 model was a new front chin spoiler and twin black hood stripes.
