The year 1970 marked the last hurrah for the storied Shelby GT500 as Ford's racing agreement with Carroll Shelby ended in February. The cars listed as '70 were actually re-titled '69s with the Ram Air 428 engine, multi-scooped hood and deluxe Mustang-trim interior carried over from the previous year. New for the '70 model was a new front chin spoiler and twin black hood stripes. It was truly the end of an era for muscle car enthusiasts, but the powerful 1970 Shelby GT500 went anything but quietly.
